Sound & stillness — a recent gong bath
There's a particular quality of stillness that only arrives when a
room decides, together, to stop.
Not the stillness of an empty studio — that one is easy. The stillness
of ten people, twenty people, each with their own week, their own
weight, all agreeing at the same slow breath that whatever brought
them here can now, gently, be set down.
That was Saturday.
The gong doesn't ask you to feel anything in particular. It offers a
frequency — long, layered, sometimes wide — and lets your body
decide what to do with it. Some people arrive holding their shoulders
somewhere near their ears and don't notice they've released them
until an hour later, sitting up, feeling suddenly taller.
A few things the room seemed to be carrying:
- A week that was louder than they wanted it to be
- A body that hadn't had permission to rest in a while
- A quiet grief that didn't need words, just a place to sit next to
None of that is unusual. That's most of us, most of the time. And
that's the invitation of a sound bath — not to fix any of it, but to
give it forty minutes of company. Sound, breath, and the space in
between.
If Saturday moved something in you, thank you for being in the room.
If you've been meaning to try one — the next few dates are on the
sessions page. There's no experience needed. Come as you are. Bring
a blanket. We'll do the rest.
With care,
jaemie sound bath
